The purpose of the U.S. Custom and Border Protection’s (CBP) Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program is to push security outside the U.S.A. Your business partners (foreign suppliers and service providers) should comply with the minimum C-TPAT security criteria. You can send questionnaires for completion to your business partners. You can request your business partners to send you a letter stating that they comply with the minimum C-TPAT security criteria. In order to ensure that they truly do comply, you must conduct an onsite assessment.
